Central New York Chapter Project Appleseed Annual Habitat Day 2026

Join the Central New York Chapter for their 2026 Project Appleseed Habitat Day!

RGS & AWS members will join students from SUNY ESF to plant a mix of alder, birch,
mountain ash, silky dogwood, ninebark, red oak and Virginia rose.

Tools, tree seedlings, and lunch are provided.

 

DIRECTIONS: From Tully-Truxton Rd., turn right on Maple Ridge Rd. and continue for another 0.4 miles, then turn right and go past the yellow gate (Foley Rd). Go 0.4 miles and park at the wide intersection.

Central Maryland Meeting at First Mine Run 2026

Central Adirondack Chapter 4th Annual Fun Shoot and Get-Together

Join the Central Adirondack Chapter for their 4th annual fun shoot and get together! We’ll shoot an assortment of randomized clay targets replicating wild birds, discuss all things RGS & AWS, and gather around our shared mission of grouse and woodcock habitat conservation! Bring your favorite bird gun, shells (2.75 or less / 7.5oz shot or less), eye/ear protection, and a camp chair! Gun fitting, measurements, and patterning available. Dinner, drinks, and raffles to follow the shoot at the Indian Lake Restaurant (Not included in ticket price. Cash only – ATM on site). Limited to 30 Shooters – Reserve your spot soon! 15th Annual New York Grouse & Woodcock Benefit Hunt

Enjoy two days of hunting for grouse & woodcock, lodging, all food including beer and wine and a banquet dinner.

Appalachian Plateau Chapter Early Successional Habitat Project at Hiltonville State Forest

Join us for a habitat improvement project at Hiltonville State Forest!

Volunteers needed to help plant and fence 1000 saplings in an aspen clear cut.

Bring snacks and drinks. Also bring buckets, gloves, shovels and planting bars if available.

All are welcome to join us for dinner at the Birdsall Inn afterwards!
