The Jersey Shore chapter of the American Woodcock Society, in partnership with New Jersey Fish and Wildlife, has identified its spring 2025 woodcock habitat project at Dennis Creek Wildlife Management Area in Cape May County, New Jersey. This will be a continuation of the 2023 project. Volunteers will revisit the 2023 plantings of northern bayberry seedlings, remove plant protectors, and mark the locations of viable plantings using bamboo stakes and contractor tape. Join us for an afternoon of music, drinks, grilled burgers and hotdogs. Come meet members of the AWS Jersey Shore Chapter at this laid-back hangout, learn more about local chapter efforts and meet like-minded outdoor and conservation enthusiasts.
Speakers will be Mark Dreyfus, president of the Jersey Shore Chapter of AWS, as well as other chapter leaders.
Food and drinks provided by the chapter. We’ll have a 50/50 and small raffle at the event.

The Jersey Shore chapter of the American Woodcock Society in partnership with New Jersey Fish & Wildlife have identified our spring 2024 woodcock habitat project at Prospertown Lake WMA, Monmouth County NJ. Next steps will be to plant a perimeter of 125 alder trees to a connecting field and create staggered growth edges along the mature treeline.
