May 7, 2026 by Alison Kelley

Join the NC Wildlife Federation, Down East Prescribed Burn Association, and the Onslow Bight Conservation Forum for a BBQ chicken lunch and to learn about forest and wildlife conservation programs for private landowners. Save Tuckertown: Protecting Public Land and Wildlife Habitat in North Carolina

May 6, 2026 by Ruffed Grouse Society

A large swath of valuable wildlife habitat with a long history of public access is now at risk in North Carolina. Southern Appalachian Chapter Cold Mountain Game Lands Site Visit

April 2, 2026 by Alison Kelley

Join and RGS & AWS conservation staff to look at the Little East Fork project area. This project area includes a timber harvest and daylighting that occurred several years ago on the game land. Funds from the Asheville Chapter were used to pay for the roadside daylighting. We will be discussing the treatments response, ruffed grouse habitat requirements, and silvicultural practices that can lead to better outcomes for wildlife.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking. Attendees should wear weather-appropriate clothing and plan to be outside for 2-3 hours.
