Grand Rapids, Michigan Chapter Woodcock Walk 2026 – 2 Dates!

7:45 -8:00pm: Gather in Prairie Overlook Parking lot.

8:00 – 8:20pm: Discussion on woodcock banding, woodcock biology, migration routes, etc.

8:20 – 8:30pm: Move to watching sites.

8:30 – Dark: Watch and listen to the Sky Dance of woodcock.

  • This is an outside event, please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. Viewing sites are approximately 200 yards from the parking lot. A Camp Chair and Binoculars are recommended.
  • Alcohol is prohibited at Luton Park
  • While we love our dogs, we ask that dogs do not attend.

This event is limited to 40 participants.

Robert J. Lytle Chapter Woodcock Walk 2026

Join the Jim Foote Chapter of RGS & AWS in partnership with the Michigan DNR for an evening walk to witness one of the most remarkable signs of spring, the courtship display of the American woodcock. The walk will end by (hopefully!) watching the remarkable dance and song of this secretive bird. The walk portion of the event will be held entirely outdoors and will last approximately 75 minutes, featuring a leisurely half-mile walk along a trail with several stops. West Michigan Lakeshore Chapter Annual Conservation Banquet 2026

Join us at the West Michigan Lakeshore Chapter’s Conservation Banquet! Enjoy a great meal and camaraderie at our banquet, featuring auction items, games, raffles, firearms and prizes geared toward hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Robert J. Lytle Chapter Fun Hunt 2026

This is not a competition. There will be no judging or awards given, this is strictly for fun. Pointing and flushing dogs of all ages and experience are welcome! The event is limited to 25 dogs. Attendees may register more than one dog!
