Updated September 2024:
In the Greenbrier Ranger District of the Monongahela National Forest in eastern WV, logging is underway to implement our stewardship agreement for the Beulah wildlife enhancement project, creating 180+ acres of young forests. Thanks to the Monongahela National Forest, Big Timber Harvest (which bought the timber sale), and our local consulting forester, Crystal Johnston.
As part of our first stewardship agreement with the Monongahela National Forest, we expect to soon sell the first set of stands (circled in red on the map below) in the Beulah Wildlife Enhancement Project. The project will create 146 acres of early successional and then young forest habitat from the timber sale, plus thin 133 acres and manage 41 of young stands.
RGS expects to help sell the second set of stands as part of an extension of our stewardship agreement.
