The Minnesota Forest Resources Council’s (MFRC) Site-Level Committee on Minnesota’s Forest Management Guidelines (FMGs) is seeking public input on the development of comprehensive forest management guidelines. The guidelines are a core mandate of the Minnesota’s Sustainable Forest Resources Act.
Development and implementation of the guidelines has served as a foundation of the work performed by the MFRC. The guidelines are also intended to reduce the potential for negative environmental impacts resulting from timber harvesting and other forest-management activities on all forest lands in the State. The guidelines are used primarily by forest managers, loggers, and forest landowners during forestry activities such as timber harvesting.
The below survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and aims to assess stakeholder views about Minnesota’s FMG’s. It is intended to be taken by anyone who has previous experience working with Minnesota’s FMGs or who is a stake holder in the management of Minnesota’s forests, like yourself. The survey will be open for responses until August 21, 2020.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping to guide forest management in Minnesota.
The current FMGs and Quick Reference Field Guide can be found on the MFRC website.
