The Finger Lakes National Forest Woodcock Habitat Restoration Project was initiated in the winter of 2022. RGS & AWS leveraged a grant from the National Forest Foundation to begin restoring woodcock habitat on the Hector District. We worked with the NF biologist to identify 7 blocks of woodcock habitat that needed to be reset to early successional habitat and the mastication work was completed by a local contractor in February 2022.
