A brief update on COVID-19 and it’s implications to the RGS/AWS mission.
Fellow Conservationists,
As we enter our peak event season, we also enter a time of great uncertainty due to COVID-19. One where we may not be able to gather and enjoy each other’s company as we would like.
We are keeping a diligent eye on the COVID-19 situation so we can respond as information comes available. True to RGS/AWS tenets, we will act pragmatically, led by science and expert recommendations.
With that said, we are not cancelling all events for a defined period. Rather, we will depend on you to communicate local conditions with RGS/AWS Regional Directors. From there, we can make informed decisions. Of course, all local and state advisories will be heeded to promote health and safety within our communities.
To be sure, withdrawing events from March through May (our peak fundraising season) will be a big hit. Not to be deterred, our team is working through creative ways to lessen that blow and provide opportunities through the web or via mail. While we may not be able to gather, perhaps we can join remotely to support conservation. After all, the need has never been greater!
Please be safe and take great care. See you soon.
