Join the Kentucky River Chapter for a volunteer workday! We will be planting 800-900 shortleaf pine seedlings on the Peter’s Branch Stewardship Agreement. The Peter’s Branch Stewardship Agreement is a collaborative project between RGS & AWS and the Daniel Boone National Forest (DBNF), allowing RGS & AWS to improve forest habitat diversity on hundreds of acres of the DBNF’s London Ranger District.
This shortleaf pine planting will enhance the habitat established by a suite of other commercial and non-commercial forest management activities, ultimately creating 103 acres of oak-pine woodland.
All attendees are encouraged to bring their own work gloves and come dressed to work 3-4 hours outside.
We will meet at the fire department at 8 a.m. We will carpool/caravan to the project area, approximately 10-15 minutes away.
RSVP below to Tristan Moorehead and join us for a great day of habitat creation! Refreshments and tools will be provided, so please let us know you’ll be able to help.
