Frequently Asked Questions:

“How do new members find their local chapter if they want to get involved?”

People looking to find out more about their local chapter may find contact information for the local committees on our website under the “Engagement” tab. Additionally, those with questions about how to become involved may reach out to their regional engagement coordinator directly.

“How can I become more active with local chapters?”

Local chapters assist with our mission in various ways. Boots-on-the-ground habitat work, fundraising, outreach programs and membership drives all play an important role in propelling the core mission of RGS & AWS. Meet with your regional engagement coordinator to discuss these initiatives. We also welcome your ideas on finding new ways to engage with people!

“What are the differences between the membership levels and what do I receive?”

There are often limited-time gifts and/or other incentives associated with each membership level. If you have identified someone as a potential large donor, please relay this to your regional engagement/development staff to discuss additional benefits.

“How do I pick a local chapter when I join?”

When a person signs up for membership online and wants to be a member of a specific chapter, they are asked to send a quick email to info@ruffedgrousesociety.org

All mailing is run through a radius pull in our CRM/USPS system, so if a member does not want to be assigned right away to a chapter, they will not miss out on local event correspondence.

Please note: If a membership is obtained through a local event, the member is automatically assigned to that chapter. This may also be updated by sending an email to info@ruffedgrousesociety.org.

“What are the differences between the membership levels, and what do I receive?”

Every member receives 4 issues of Covers magazine, decals, local event mailings, local project information and the Bellwether emails for their membership.

Depending on the time of the year, there are other membership incentives available. All members receive email correspondence when these extra offers are available, and if a mail renewal is sent out during the time of a membership push, that information is included on the renewal form. Please check our membership landing page for current offers.

“How can I become more active with local chapters?”

Please reach out to your engagement coordinator, who can provide the names and contact information so you can become an active volunteer in your region.
