The online maps aid hunters in finding grouse and woodcock habitat.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has developed an online interactive mapping tool to help upland bird hunters locate public lands, bird-specific habitat and places to hunt. The Fields & Forest Lands Interactive Gamebird Hunting Tool (FFLIGHT) aids hunters in locating cover suitable for ruffed grouse, woodcock, managed dove fields and properties stocked with game farm pheasants.
The FFLIGHT was developed “in recognition of the passion with which these hunters pursue upland birds and to help make their time in Wisconsin’s outdoors more productive and enjoyable,” according to the Wisconsin DNR.

For grouse and woodcock hunting, the application features mapping of young aspen and lowland alder stands that provide excellent cover for grouse and woodcock and can easily be located on the map.
