James River Chapter 12th Annual Banquet

Join us for our annual banquet.

Your attendance supports forest wildlife conservation efforts in our region and is a fun opportunity to meet other conservation leaders and win all sorts of items and prizes geared toward hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Proceeds go towards conservation of forest wildlife and support for the local chapter.

James River Chapter Roy Lambertson Bird Hunt for Conservation

This is a good opportunity to prepare for the upcoming hunting season; we hope you can join us. Two to three shooters assigned to one or two bird dogs, with either your dogs or member’s pups. We will match up hunters with dogs after registrations are complete with responses to Tony. James River Chapter 100 Bird Sporting Clays Fun Shoot

We will shoot 100 targets traveling through hill and dale at one of the nicest courses around. Please bring your own ammo; Brad has 12 gauge for sale if needed, but is short on all other gauges. Additionally, bring your own eye and ear protection. Please plan to arrive at 11:30 AM to register, obtain ammo if needed, and be ready to start at noon. We will have a “shotgun start”. RGS & AWS announces Forest Conservation Director to lead forest wildlife conservation efforts in the southern Appalachians.

Nick Biemiller With funding donated specifically for the purpose, the Ruffed Grouse Society and American Woodcock Society (RGS & AWS) have moved forward with a new Forest Conservation Director position in the Southern Appalachian Region. The generous gift, from a donor who wished to remain anonymous, was placed in a restricted account late in 2019 as recruitment ensued. The Society announced today that Nick Biemiller was selected for the role from a highly qualified group of applicants.
