Green Mountain Chapter Annual Banquet

Please join us for our annual banquet. It’s a chance to connect with fellow conservation enthusiasts and possibly win a variety of hunting, fishing and outdoor-themed items and prizes. The funds generated are channeled into safeguarding our forest wildlife and strengthening our local chapter’s impact. Your involvement truly makes a difference.

Habitat Work Day – Plymsbury WMA – Vermont

Come join members from Vermont’s hunting and conservation community for a morning of releasing apple trees to improve wildlife habitat. We need help girdling, cutting and piling competing vegetation.

Meet at the parking area near 555 Old Plymouth Rd. (approx. 0.5 miles off of Old CCC Rd.) Dress appropriately for working in the woods. If you have cutting tools (chainsaws, bow saws, etc.) please feel free to bring them. Sawyers are required to use PPE. Building an Adaptive Management Framework for the Green Mountain National Forest Early Successional Habitat Creation Project (Vermont)

Primary Funder: University of Vermont Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative (FEMC)  Funding Amount: $25,000, RGS match, $12,500 Project Title: Building an Adaptive Management Framework for the Green Mountain National Forest Early Successional Habitat Creation Project Location: Green Mountain National Forest, Manchester District, Southern Vermont Innovation:GMNF initiated an early successional habitat creation project in 2020 covering 15,000 acres of timber harvest treatments implemented over 15-years to increase the acreage of regenerating age class (0 to 9 years old) forest. The main objective is to improve habitat for neotropical migrant birds and other early successional-dependent wildlife species.
