Upland Bird Hunt Chapter and Rolfe Beagle Club Individual Bird Dog Training Clinic

The Ruffed Grouse Society Upland Bird Hunt Chapter is proud to announce they will offer an individual, one-on-one, bird dog training clinic on Saturday, May 17, at the Rolfe Beagle Club in Johnsonburg, PA. This training clinic is for new bird dog handlers or experienced bird dog handlers that want additional help with training their dog. This training is an extension of the Upland Bird Hunt Chapter’s popular Future Hunter and Handlers’ Clinic. “We call this the Train the Trainer Clinic,” said Tom McPherson. Women’s Introduction to Wingshooting is a course for women and taught by women. On both Saturdays, the course starts at noon and ends at 4 p.m. On both Sundays, the course starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Attendance is required for both weekends to graduate from the program. Upland Bird Hunt Chapter Habitat Day

The Upland Bird Hunt Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society is calling on volunteers to join a hands-on habitat improvement project at Bunker Hill on Saturday, April 19, at 9 a.m. Volunteers will meet at Clermont Park before heading to the work site. This project is part of the Ruffed Grouse Society’s ongoing efforts to improve habitat for ruffed grouse, woodcock and other wildlife species. Habitat work will include creating early successional forest conditions, including tree planting, and fence repair which are critical for young forest wildlife.
