Pennsylvania is currently at a 50-year low for young forest habitat. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has teamed up with the Wildlife Management Institute, Ruffed Grouse Society and the National Wild Turkey Federation to create young forest habitat at several locations throughout Moraine State...

Ridge Country Chapter Habitat Day at SGL 317

March 20, 2026 by Alison Kelley

The Chesapeake Conservancy is providing 4,000 live stakes (alder, red osier, silky dogwood, etc.) and we’ll be planting those on our new woodcock project area on SGL 317.

This is easy work as the stakes just get stuck into the ground, no shovel needed!
Bring work gloves. The PGC believes that a group of 4-6 volunteers can complete this work in a couple of hours.

RSVP required to Matt.
