Join the Ruffed Grouse Society & American Woodcock Society, Pheasants Forever, MI Birds and Michigan DNR for a habitat project tour and woodcock walk.

A ) Habitat Project Tour 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Meet at the parking lot across from 7227 Avoca Road, Clyde, MI 48049

 

B.) Woodcock Walk 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Meet 1 mile north of 7227 Avoca Road, Clyde, MI 48049

Parking lot on east side of Kingsley Road

Michigan Wingshooting Clinic

Youth (10 years or older), women, and men are invited to participate in a weekend-long wingshooting clinic on April 21 – 23, 2023 Halter Shooting Sports Education Center in Hillsdale, MI. The clinic is hosted by HerUpland and the Ruffed Grouse Society & American Woodcock Society. Check-in will begin on Friday, April 21 at 5 p.m. at Hillsdale Brewing Co. The clinic will begin at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning and end 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The Prairie Overlook Parking Lot is on Kies St., .7 miles to the east of Courtland Dr. and to the west of Myers Lake Rd. The parking lot is on the north side of Kies. 7:45-8 P.M. Gather in Prairie Overlook Parking Lot. 8-8:20 P.M. Discussion of Harry Luton, woodcock banding, woodcock biology, migration routes, etc. 8:20-8:30 P.M. Move to watching sites. 8:30 P.M. ‘til dark Watch and listen to the skydance of woodcock. A camp chair and binoculars beneficial.
