Agreement Narrative: Huron-Manistee Stewardship Agreement Primary Funder: Huron-Manistee National Forest (Stewardship Agreement) Location: Cadillac-White Cloud Ranger District, Huron-Manistee National Forest, Michigan Innovation: Utilizing the USFS goods-for-service Stewardship program, will contract to establish and administer commercial timber projects.  The timber harvest activity itself will contribute to forest age-class diversification within the region, while proceeds from the sale will be used to fund additional acres of commercial timber harvest as well as habitat and access projects within the Cadillac-White Cloud Ranger District of the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Impact: The initial phase of this project will see the sale and contract administration of a 99-acre aspen timber...

Le Grande Traverse Chapter Chukar Challenge

by

Participant with the best time and most shells wins
Lead free/non-toxic shot only size 7-8
Each contestant will have 20 minutes to walk the course with their dog
No more than two dogs and a handler on the course at one time
4 birds per hunter
8 shells per hunter
Dogs and handlers must stay in marked boundaries
Dog may retrieve downed birds outside of boundaries
Time stops when all four birds are delivered or 20 minutes are hit.
Extra birds may be purchased
No alcohol permitted on the property

Habitat Day at the Big Jackson Project

Come put boots on the ground and be a part of a work day to help build healthy forests and abundant wildlife.  This work day is open to all ages, and will involve planting trees.

Bring shovels and waterproof boots as the area can be wet

Meeting Site Directions:

Take 131 North, exit 142 west on 19 mile road  (turns into E. 13 Mile Rd.) for 13 mi. Turn South onto N. Walnut.

If coming from M-37, Hayes Street is 2 miles north of the town of Brohman. Continue east 2 miles on Hayes to Walnut intersection.
