Le Grand Traverse Grouse & Woodcock Dog Training Seminar

Join us for a day of demonstrations and discussion from Bruce and Neal Minard from HiFive Kennels on how to build a Grouse Dog.

*Please note this is a seminar not a workshop. Attendees are asked not to bring their personal dogs. Bruce and Neal will bring multiple dogs from their Kennel for the demonstration.

Lunch will be provided!

 

Topics will include:

Puppy/ Foundational: Bird Introduction, Whoa & Here Commands, Intro to Gun Fire, E Collar Use and Honoring

Intermediate Training: Steady on Point, Patterning and Advanced Whoa

Le Grand Traverse Chapter Chukar Challenge

8 a.m. STARTING TIMES BEGIN

FEE: $130

Participant with the best time and most leftover shells wins
Lead free/non-toxic shot only size 7-8
Each contestant will have 20 minutes to walk the course with their dog
No more than two dogs and a handler on the course at one time
4 birds per hunter
8 shells per hunter
Dogs and handlers must stay in marked boundaries
Dog may retrieve downed birds outside of boundaries
Time stops when all four birds are delivered or 20 minutes are hit.
Extra birds may be purchased
No alcohol permitted on the property

LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED AFTER THE EVENT
