RGS Jim Foote Chapter Woodcock Walk

Join the Jim Foote Chapter of RGS & AWS in partnership with the Michigan DNR for an evening walk to witness one of the most remarkable signs of spring, the courtship display of the American woodcock. The walk will end by (hopefully!) watching the remarkable dance and song of this secretive bird. The walk portion of the event will be held entirely outdoors and will last approximately 75 minutes, featuring a leisurely half-mile walk along a trail with several stops. RGS Jim Foote Chapter Trees and Trash Habitat Day

In collaboration with the MI DNR, volunteers will plant and fence 25 wildlife fruit trees, and clean up dump site on our state forest land. We are looking for ~30 volunteers. Lunch will be provided.

Michigan Call for Volunteers –

Join fellow members for a hands-on opportunity to restore and improve access to upland habitat impacted by recent storm damage. This volunteer event is a joint effort between MUCC’s On the Ground program and RGS & AWS.

Members from the Jim Foote Chapter (Gaylord/Grayling), Andy Ammann Chapter (Lansing) and Robert J. Lytle Chapter (Lapeer) will be on-site to support the project — and all members and chapters across the state are encouraged to attend.
