The Prairie Overlook Parking Lot is on Kies St., .7 miles to the east of Courtland Dr. and to the west of Myers Lake Rd. The parking lot is on the north side of Kies. 7:45-8 P.M. Gather in Prairie Overlook Parking Lot. 8-8:20 P.M. Discussion of Harry Luton, woodcock banding, woodcock biology, migration routes, etc. 8:20-8:30 P.M. Move to watching sites. 8:30 P.M. ‘til dark Watch and listen to the skydance of woodcock. A camp chair and binoculars beneficial. Grand Rapids Chapter Brad Bachelder Memorial Youth Hunt

Participation is limited to 18 youths. (12 to 17 years of age)

We will provide instruction, warm-up clays, a guided three-bird hunt and lunch.

An orange hat, orange vest, and protective eyewear are required for each hunter.

All youths must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Saginaw Valley Chapter Annual Steak Fry and Shoot

This is a fun and casual evening of shooting, a way to meet your fellow chapter members, catch up on the latest bird hunting news, and sharpen your shooting skills before bird season. Proceeds support grouse and woodcock habitat improvement projects. The gun club does open at Noon if you want to come early and shoot lots of targets.
