Ruffed Grouse Society & American Woodcock Society Hires Buggia as Eastern Great Lakes Engagement Coordinator

May 5, 2022 by Ruffed Grouse Society

RGS & AWS welcomes Nick Buggia to the team as the Eastern Great Lakes Engagement Coordinator. Born and raised in Michigan, Buggia earned a B.S. in Political Science and Economics from Saginaw Valley State University. His professional background includes working on outdoor legislation as a Legislative Director in the Michigan State Senate and most recently working with the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation promoting hunting and fishing policies to legislatures and governors in seven states in the upper Midwest. Buggia serves on the governor-appointed Michigan Wildlife Council and works to educate the general public about the benefits of hunting and fishing.

In his new role with RGS & AWS, Buggia will be working with chapters in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana to promote events and engagement opportunities and give aid to any policy issues that arise. “As someone who has worked for many years in conservation policy and as an avid upland hunter, I am excited to merge my professional skillset with my passion, by working with members in the region and all those who care about conservation to improve wildlife habitat and forest health. I am looking forward to getting to know the individual members and serving as a resource for the chapters in the region,” said Buggia.
