RGS & AWS Adds Alyssa Roberts as Forest Wildlife Specialist in Minnesota

March 20, 2026 by Ruffed Grouse Society

Alyssa Roberts joins RGS & AWS as forest wildlife specialist, bringing extensive field experience in wildlife biology, forest habitat management and natural resources research across northern Minnesota.

Roberts has built her career working directly in the field, with eight years of experience as a seasonal technician for the U.S. Forest Service on both the Chippewa National Forest and Superior National Forest, followed by two years in environmental consulting. Her work has focused on supporting forest stewardship, wildlife monitoring and science-based management practices that improve habitat for a wide range of species.

Throughout her career, Roberts has collaborated with multiple conservation partners including the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the University of Minnesota and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. These partnerships have helped advance natural resource goals and strengthen cooperative habitat management across the region.

At RGS & AWS, Roberts will focus on projects associated with the Moose Habitat Collaborative and support stewardship work with the U.S. Forest Service to improve forest health and wildlife habitat in Minnesota.

Roberts holds an Associate of Applied Science in Natural Resources Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology, Research and Management and a Master of Science in Biology. A longtime resident of Ely and Grand Rapids, Minnesota, she will establish her home office in Grand Rapids. Outside of her professional work, Roberts enjoys cross-country skiing, hunting for white-tailed deer and ruffed grouse, kayaking, crocheting and collecting record albums.
