Old Koschak Farm Habitat Workday

It is finally spring and that means we are looking for volunteers to help assist with planting 3,000 Red Oak at Old Koschak WMA in Ely, MN! They will be planted across 6 different sites.

Volunteers will need to bring their own PPE, water, food and snacks (a limited amount of water and Gatorade will be onsite.)

The PPE required for tree planting and tree protection,  includes the following :

• Appropriate and sturdy footwear
• safety glass/sunglasses
• gloves
• long sleeves and pants for tick protection

We will be meeting at the parking lot at 9:00 am for both days for a quick safety briefing and logistics. We will also need all volunteers to fill out the group volunteer agreement form for our records, so RSVP before the workday to ensure we are ready to go on the workday!

From the east side of Ely proceed on Hwy 169 1/4 of a mile east. Turn left on Co. Rd. 88/Grant-McMahan Blvd. and go approximately 1.5 miles and the WMA will be on your right.
