RGS & AWS Hires Ashley Strabel as Forest Wildlife Specialist

RGS & AWS welcomes Ashley Strabel as a forest wildlife specialist working in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Strabel is based out of the Hayward, Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources office and will be serving public and private lands in northwest Wisconsin. Strabel earned a degree in forest ecosystem restoration and management with a wetland sciences certificate from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Hunter Walking Trails Get a Facelift in Northern Minnesota

As Scott Johnson drove to his chosen ruffed grouse hunting spot on Minnesota’s season opener in mid-September, he felt a pang of pride passing parked cars at hunter walking trail trailheads. “It’s great. It’s very rewarding when people are using these and hopefully, probably appreciating them,” said Johnson, who is the Ruffed Grouse Society’s forest conservation coordinator in Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
