Do you know how far a woodcock can fly in a single nonstop flight? If you guessed over 400 miles you’re right. Not bad eh?! Don’t believe us? Our members have helped fund the research to prove it.

Earlier this year, RGS Member and host of the Project Upland Podcast, Nick Larson interviewed Dr. Erik Blomberg, Assistant Professor of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Maine on the Project Upland Podcast. The conversation covered the ongoing Eastern Woodcock Migration Research project as well as the critical role AWS has played in helping fund the research.

Again in 2019, our members and donors have answered the call in helping to fund another round of research as the study continues. While AWS has reached it’s 2019 funding goal, donations are still being accepted. For any donation of $250 or greater, the donor will receive a custom AWS vest.
