Agreement Narrative: 2024 Northern Ohio Chapter of The American Woodcock Society Tree Planting Project Primary Funder: National Wild Turkey Federation Location: Highlandtown Wildlife Area: Ohio DNR Innovation: This is a small grant that the Northern Ohio Chapter of The American Woodcock partnered with Ohio DNR and National Wild Turkey Federation on to conduct chapter led habitat improvement on the Highlandtown Wildlife Area that is managed by the OH DNR. It is a small $6,000 grant and will involve plant 200 apple and 100 pear trees into an existing American Chestnut grove at Highlandtown Wildlife Area. Agreement Narrative: Ruffed Grouse Society Great Divide Stewardship Primary Funder: Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (Stewardship) Location: Great Divide Ranger District, Chequamegon National Forest, Wisconsin Innovation: This is a non-timber short-form stewardship agreement. Through this short-form agreement, the USFS is providing RGS & AWS with Bipartisan Infrastructure (BIL) funding to evaluate and assess no-bid timber sale payment units on the Great Divide Ranger District of the Chequamegon National Forest. Using this funding, RGS & AWS will contract the assessment of no-bid timber sales out to a consulting forestry company. Ruffed Grouse Society & American Woodcock Society Promotes Jared Elm to Wisconsin Conservation Coordinator

RGS & AWS is happy to announce Jared Elm as the new Wisconsin forest conservation coordinator. For six years, Elm has played a vital role in assisting private landowners in the northwest part of the state as a forest wildlife specialist with RGS & AWS.
