Kangas will engage Minnesota chapters in fundraising and membership events that enhance healthy forests, abundant wildlife and sporting traditions.

 

Coraopolis, PA – The Ruffed Grouse Society and American Woodcock Society (RGS/AWS) recently hired Matt Kangas as regional director to enhance chapter engagement and fundraising efforts in Minnesota. RGS/AWS regional directors work with local chapter volunteers to create and host chapter events including fundraising, sportsman’s banquets, shoots, educational activities, habitat days and recruitment/youth events.

“We welcome Matt Kangas to the organization and look forward to his future chapter leadership for fundraising, events and furthering our habitat and hunting mission in Minnesota,” said RGS and AWS President and CEO John Eichinger.

Prior to this position, Matt Kangas was the sales and business development manager – ammunition for Remington Arms Incorporated (ROC) based in Huntsville Alabama since 2014. From 2010 to 2014, he gained other valuable experience at Remington in various positions including key account manager, Western Region sales representative, and sales merchandiser/associate sales representative. He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in communications and minor in business from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2000. Matt resides in Superior, Wisconsin and is an avid and experienced grouse and woodcock hunter, mainly in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. He enjoys fishing, golf, hockey and time at his lake cabin in northern Wisconsin.
