Coraopolis, PA – The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) and American Woodcock Society (AWS) are traveling to Southern Appalachia from November 7 through 14 to document habitat programs, volunteer work, sporting traditions and the grouse camp experience online and on social media during the 2016 Grouse Camp Tour. This year’s Tour is sponsored by SportDOG Brand and celebrates the rich grouse hunting history of the area by visiting grouse camps and chapter volunteers in West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.

The 2016 Grouse Camp Tour will be recorded by photograph and video in real-time on the RGS website, www.ruffedgrousesociety.org/camptour16, and on social media through Facebook (www.facebook.com/RuffedGrouseSociety), Twitter (@RGS_AWS), Instagram (@ruffedgrousesociety) and YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/RuffedGrouseSociety).

“Few things epitomize the importance of our sporting traditions as well as a grouse camp experience each fall. This Grouse Camp Tour provides RGS and AWS a unique opportunity to celebrate habitat initiatives on public lands, sporting traditions and membership by spreading the experiences in real-time through social media. Through video and photos, viewers will witness everything we love about grouse and woodcock hunting and everything that makes RGS and AWS the leaders in forest wildlife conservation,” said RGS Editor & Director of Communications Matt Soberg.

As part of the Tour, if participants become a new RGS or AWS member for ONLY $35, they receive an RGS meshback patch hat, a J.Dowd (@upland_lowlife) grouse or woodcock art long-sleeve T-shirt and a chance to win a SportDOG Brand Tek. 2.0 GPS + E-Collar System!
